Course Description:

Interoception is the inner sense that allows us to experience a wide variety of sensations such as a growling stomach, tense muscles or racing heart. Many factors can influence a person’s relationship with these interoceptive bodily sensations-whether it a history of trauma, a certain diagnosis or simply living a busy lifestyle that fails to allow time to attend to the body. Learn how to turn a traditional yoga practice into an explicit interoceptive journey that inspires inner curiosity in a supportive and safe way. In this live online course, we explore the difference between the implicit and explicit interoception connections made during a yoga practice and provide strategies on how to use yoga to explicitly nurture interoception growth in a trauma-informed manner. Featured review

Melissa T. I use yoga with the students in my classroom on a daily basis. This course taught me how to make simple modifications in order to turn our yoga time into a fun and explicit interoception strategy. Through this daily practice my students have significantly improved their ability to notice and understand how their bodies feel. They use a lot more language to describe what they are feeling and are more connected to activities that help their bodies feel comfortable. It has been exciting to watch them feel empowered with this new level of self-awareness and understanding. Thank you, Molly and Kelly!

So, who are we?:

We are Molly Diodato and Kelly Mahler and have been friends since our kids started swimming together many years ago. Sitting through numerous long swim meets gave us plenty of time to ponder the ways of the world. In addition to sharing a love of long swim meets, neuroscience, travel and vegetarian recipes, Molly and Kelly are in a very dedicated book club where reading is optional, but the good food, good drinks and good friends are always present. Molly, in all of her wisdom, inspired Kelly to become a yogi and the rest is history.
