(hidden) Wellness, Reclaimed: Could Interoception Help Us Find What Actually Feels Good?
$15.00 USD
The global wellness industry is valued at $6.3 trillion—yet, ironically, chronic and mental illnesses are at an all-time high. In a world overflowing with wellness advice, supplements, routines, and products—why are so many of us still struggling?
Join us for a 60-minute live discussion and Q&A, where we’ll explore how wellness trends are often manipulated and marketed in ways that fuel false promises and shame-based expectations. We’ll also explore how interoception—our sense of our internal body signals—might help us rethink what wellness really means, how it’s sold to us, and how we might begin to reclaim it on our own terms.

Course Description:
From mindfulness apps to step goals, supplements to workout routines—wellness has become a cultural force. But for many, these messages feel more performative than personal. Trying to do all the “right” things can sometimes leave us feeling even more disconnected from ourselves.
At the same time, traditional healthcare can be inaccessible—especially for those navigating chronic illness, trauma, neurodivergence, or mental health challenges. The gap between wellness and care can be wide—and confusing.
Despite increased access to wellness content, our collective health is not improving. In fact, recent data paints a concerning picture:
In the United States:
- Nearly 76.4% of adults live with at least one chronic condition (CDC, 2025)
- 6 in 10 young adults are already managing a chronic illness (CDC, 2025)
- Mental health diagnoses have increased by nearly 40% since 2019 (FAIR Health, 2023)
These numbers tell a deeper story—one that suggests that the growing wellness industry may not be meeting our most fundamental needs. Could the answer lie in reconnecting with our bodies from the inside out?
This session invites you to pause, reflect, and ask:
- What does wellness actually feel like in your body?
- When does support start to feel like pressure?
- Could interoception offer a more individualized, shame-free path to understanding what wellness means for you?
This isn’t about rejecting wellness altogether—it’s about reclaiming it.
What you’ll learn:
- How interoception might provide a guide to your internal awareness and body trust
- Why the booming wellness industry hasn’t necessarily improved health outcomes—and how to make sense of that
- How to recognize wellness messaging that lacks rigorous scientific evidence
- What to look out for in wellness spaces (fear-based marketing, ableism, overpromising, cultural appropriation)
- How to support yourself or others in defining wellness from the inside out—not from the outside in
Who this session is for:
- Professionals exploring wellness through a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming lens
- Individuals reflecting on their relationship with wellness
- Anyone who has felt overwhelmed, pressured, or confused by wellness expectations
- Therapists, caregivers, educators, or anyone else supporting others in their wellness journey
